My name is Abby, and I am the proud owner of Giving Tree Lactation. As a certified lactation counselor, my passion is to support and guide you through your breastfeeding journey.

Based in New Gloucester, Maine, I live with my husband and our two energetic boys. I enjoy exploring the beautiful northern Maine woods with my family, participating in road races, listening to Brandi Carlile, and savoring a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside sushi.

Like many mothers, I faced challenges with breastfeeding during those crucial early hours, days, and months. I struggled with unrealistic expectations and found it difficult to help my newborn latch. After the birth of my first child in 2019, I was inspired to provide assistance and encouragement to new mothers. In 2021, I completed my training through the Healthy Children’s Project and became a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.

My mission is to empower mothers with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their breastfeeding journey. I offer comprehensive prenatal breastfeeding education and in-home lactation support, believing that the best time for intervention is immediately after you return home from the hospital. I teach comfortable nursing positions in the comfort of your own home, making the possibility to replicate on your own without a professional even easier!

In addition to breastfeeding support, I also provide guidance for exclusive pumping and formula feeding.
